LRL Education Centre

The LRL Education Centre is our alternative education base. Here, we deliver a part time, year 5 to 11, alternative provision that provides both group and 1-1 support, based in the Swinton area. We support pupils across Greater Manchester who may have poor attendance, school refusers, persistent lack of engagement and/or are at risk of exclusion. We are an inclusive centre, welcoming pupils who suffer from social anxiety, trauma, ADHD and other issues pertaining to SEMH and SEN/D.

We make it our mission to provide a personalised, ambitious and transformative education for pupils. Our ultimate aim is to prepare pupils for a re-engagement in mainstream education and preparing them for their future. We foster leadership, develop resilience, cultivate life skills and enhance social and communication capabilities through our carefully planned curriculum which includes a blend of 1:1 mentoring sessions, team building exercises, class based learning and sport/enrichment opportunities. We ensure that pupils are prepared for successful transitions into mainstream educational settings, further education, or employment through ensuring that pupils have access to a range of qualifications from ASDAN, NCFE, Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths.

The team at LRL Education bring a wealth of skill, qualifications and experience of working with young people, in education and the care sector. This collective knowledge and experience ensures that we can build positive relationships with pupils and effectively plan our provision to meet the needs of our students and provide valuable support to mainstream settings in re-engaging dysregulated pupils. Therefore, we invest heavily on recruiting highly-qualified, experienced, staff who have a passion to drive forward our mission and continue to make significant differences in the lives of our students and their families. All staff have undergone DBS checks and received extensive training that contribute towards us being fully compliant with both Salford and Manchester City Council's rigorous Safeguarding audits.

LRL Education Centre: Facilities

We boast a host of excellent facilities that our students can make full use of, both during and outside of lesson time. Having the time to burn off some energy really does make a difference in engagement and application when undertaking academic work. Our centre has:

2 classroom teaching spaces equipped with excellent resources

1 Reflection Space - used for 1:1 reflection meetings with students

A 4G Astroturf pitch - used for football, cricket, hockey, tennis, handball and multiple other leadership activities

Large communal area, used for Group Activities

Full size pool and table tennis table

Breakfast and Lunch Area

Additionally, we utilise some of the excellent facilities in the local community and around Greater Manchester to ensure that the children who attend The LRL Education centre experience a supportive and enriching curriculum offer.

Staffing and Group Sizes

1:4, or better, Staff to Student Ratio

Group sizes limited to 6 students, or less, per group

All students assigned a 'Key Person' as mentor and point of contact
