Resilience, Determination and Strong Foundations
Resilience, Determination and Strong Foundations
At LRL Education Moss Side, we deliver a focused, relationship-led alternative provision designed to rebuild engagement and create real, lasting change. Our programme combines high-quality teaching in Maths and English (Functional Skills) with structured life skills development and professional-level boxing training, ensuring every young person leaves with both qualifications and the tools to function in the real world.
Set within the environment of Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club, our approach uses discipline, routine and physical activity as a foundation to re-engage learners who have struggled in traditional settings. Alongside core lessons, students take part in practical life skills sessions including cooking, nutrition, and financial management - covering essential areas such as budgeting, banking and independent living - as well as receiving daily boxing training to develop discipline, emotional regulation, resilience and self-belief.
Our ethos is simple: build strong foundations, develop resilience, sharpen focus, and create a clear pathway to a positive future. Every element of the programme is intentional - from small group teaching and mentoring, to structured reflection and personal development - ensuring students don’t just attend, but progress.
This is not passive provision. It is structured, ambitious and outcome-driven. It is designed to prepare young people for reintegration into school, progression into further education, or becoming employment-ready with the confidence, skills and mindset to succeed.
