Education
Bespoke learning matched to assessed starting points, individual goals and recognised qualification routes.
Boxing-led alternative education, mentoring and character development delivered from Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club for pupils across the Manchester local authority area.
LRL:FIREBOX Moss Side is a two or three-day KS3 and KS4 programme for young people who need a more active, relational way back into education. English and Maths sit alongside boxing, mentoring and personal development, with every part of the day working towards stronger attendance, better self-regulation, recognised learning and a clear next step.

English, Maths and wider learning remain central. Boxing provides challenge and routine, mentoring helps pupils reflect and regulate, and personal development turns those experiences into skills that transfer beyond the gym.

LRL:FIREBOX Moss Side placements are agreed around learner need, weekly pattern, staffing, risk and the wider education plan. Contact LRL for current availability and commissioning arrangements.
Schools and local authorities considering more than one placement can discuss commissioning arrangements directly with the team.
FIREBOX is commissioned as part of the learner’s wider education plan. Suitability, attendance, SEND, risk and intended outcomes are agreed before the placement begins and reviewed throughout.
Interest in boxing is not enough on its own. We consider the learner’s needs, medical information, communication, regulation, risk and the purpose of the placement before deciding whether FIREBOX is appropriate.
Specific coaching activity, medical considerations and physical participation are agreed through placement planning and risk assessment. Commissioners can request relevant evidence during due diligence.

Commissioners, schools and families can visit the setting and discuss the learner's needs, attendance, SEND considerations, risk and the most appropriate placement route.
