Policies, safeguarding and assurance

Policies should reflect what actually happens.

Safeguarding, safer recruitment, attendance, risk, data protection and quality assurance are part of day-to-day delivery. The policies on this page explain the framework; commissioners can request current evidence and controlled documents where required.

Public documents

Key policies should be easy to find.

The public library includes safeguarding, admissions, attendance, behaviour, SEND, complaints, equality, health and safety, recruitment, quality assurance, data protection and other operational documents. Where version control is material to a placement decision, commissioners should request the current controlled copy.

SEND & attendance
Support for young people whose additional needs and attendance difficulties are closely connected.

Many of the young people we support have SEND alongside EBSA, persistent absence or severe absence. We consider both: what is making education difficult to access, and what will help the young person take part and keep taking part.
